Job Description

Japanese brewery with a long-established history of over 180 years has now taken on new co-owners within China, resulting in the opening of a top-class Japanese restaurant where people can enjoy traditional Japanese sake and cuisine in Guangzhou City of the Guangdong Province in China!

The store’s interior is currently receiving its finishing touches, and we will be prepared to open in the Fall of 2018♪♪

Thusly, this posting is to hire a new [Sous-Chef]!

Our restaurant, located in a skyscraper in Guangzhou, can seat between 100~120 guests.
The kitchen team consists of our Japanese head chef, and then our local staff of 15~20 members.

The Sous-Chef’s duties will include:
Food Preparation and Serving (mainly sushi), Supporting the Head Chef, Assisting with Grand Opening

Requirements & Notes

Hiring Process:
1.) Resume Screening
2.) Interview with Japanese Owner
3.) One-Week Test Period at Existing Restaurant in Guangzhou
*All travel and lodging expenses paid for by company. Will receive daily salary for test period as well.
*Candidates residing outside of Japan will be considered on an individual basis

<Experience> Candidate with solid experience as a sushi chef and other Japanese cuisine Experience preparing Kaiseki course meals 10 years of general cooking experience Experience cooking at high-end restaurant desired (price per customer 15,000 JPY or more) <Language> Japanese: Native Level English: Daily Conversational Level Chinese: Not Required *Candidates of Chinese nationality also welcome!
